Yes! The original FLACS are 'fake', as you say.
Some demos are sent to me as MP3's and I usually have to use software to clean up the audio and boost the volume, but these ones were already done by the band member.
I have to convert to FLAC to upload the tracks to my other Bandcamp site as it won't accept MP3's. I must have used these FLACs here also!
My apologies!
And I've now replaced the FLACs with proper versions of a rip from the original demo tape.
There is also a ZIP file with MP3 versions of the tracks recorded from the original master DATs.

The flac files are fake. They have been made from unpacked MP3s, all frquencies higher than 16khz cutted out
